Georg Hartmann Maschinenbau GmbH (GHD), headquartered in Delbrück, Germany, is a leading manufacturer of machines for the food industry, with an emphasis on individual systems solutions in the area of cutting and packaging technology.
The proportion of client-specific packaging technology is continually increasing. For example, in the case of a packaging line for hamburgers and hot dog rolls, different arrangements and packaging technologies have to be utilised. According to client requirements, 2 or 4 rolls are arranged next to or on top of each other. Larger packaging units are also required.
Power distribution and supply as well as bus connection to the individual drives is carried out using the flexible FieldPower® busbar. The locally mounted FieldPower® on/off box is used to switch locally mounted drives on and off as required for assembly and maintenance work. The box maintenance switch is designed with IP 65 protection. It is highly suited to on-site assembly in the harsh industrial environment along the packaging line.
The customer benefit
The use of the FieldPower® on/off box means that wiring and project planning costs are significantly reduced. The maintenance switch and power distribution functions are perfectly unified in one module. The clear allocation of switch and drive makes for easier on-site work.
The switch position of the maintenance switch can be queried via the control system. A potential-free contact via an M12 connection is available for this purpose.
